This typically happens when a link contains tracking parameters, points to another social platform (such as X/Twitter or Instagram), or was copied from an incomplete URL string.
How to Resolve It
- Ensure the link starts with threads.com or threads.net.
- Use the standard format: https://www.threads.com/@username/post/POST_ID or https://www.threads.com/share/SHARE_ID.
- Avoid entering profile URLs (e.g. threads.com/@username without a post ID) because profile timelines do not represent single downloadable media posts.
- Try copying the link again directly from the Threads app using the Share icon.
