Safari iOS Download Permissions & Files App Guide
Problem Summary
Tapping the download button in Safari on iPhone or iPad does not produce a download prompt or save the video file.
Why This Happens
iOS Safari incorporates aggressive popup blocking and per-website download restrictions to prevent unwanted background downloads. If downloads were previously blocked, Safari silences future requests from the domain.
How to Resolve It
- Tap the "aA" or Page Settings icon on the left side of the Safari URL search bar.
- Select "Website Settings" from the menu options.
- Locate "Downloads" and change the permission state from "Ask" or "Deny" to "Allow".
- Refresh the Threaa page, paste your Threads link, and tap Download again.
- Open the built-in iOS Files app, navigate to "On My iPhone" > "Downloads", to find your saved file.
