Why This Happens
Meta encodes Threads media in standardized MP4 containers. When creators upload clips recorded without a microphone, animate static photos into short loops, or select platform mute toggles, the resulting video stream carries no audio track.
How to Resolve It
- Check the original Threads post in a desktop browser tab to see if an audio control bar is present.
- Inspect your device silent mode: on iOS iPhones, ensure the physical mute switch is deactivated and volume is at 50% or higher.
- Check Bluetooth audio routing: confirm your phone is not broadcasting sound to a disconnected headset or vehicle audio system.
